First Day of School

T.H. Bell Junior High.

I attended this middle school for seventh grade. My son starts his seventh grade year today.

I am so proud of my son. He is growing up. As he matures I intend to invest in his life. I benefited from my parents investment. Likewise, I appreciated the investment of other adults as well. Whether teachers at school or teachers at church, all inputted into my life. For their investment, I am grateful.

But i am trying to recall my first day of seventh grade. I vaguely remember struggling with the combination of my locker. I reviewed the process and the numbers a million times. But when it came to that moment as I entered the school, I could not get it open on the first try. I eventually opened in it up but I felt like everyone in the world was watching and laughing at me.

A middle school moment for sure, but i praise God that the Lord was there with me. I uttered a quick prayer and voila. I got the locker open.

I've prayed for me son a handful of times already. I do remember junior high. I vowed I'd never go back, but I broke that vow with this post.

Regardless, I thank God that He helped me through those maturing and hard years. He was always faithful. God still is faithful. He can be trusted. Whether you are in school or not, God is always near. For me, a follower of Christ, I have Him very close. He promised to be extremely close to help me with life. Wow! What a great God!
