Navajo Nation pastor reaches American Indians for Christ in Albuquerque, NM

Arnold & Bessie
Grace Church partners with Arnold & Bessie Betoney.  Pastor Arnold leads the Native New Life Church in Alburquerque, NM. Launching with eight core families, Native New LIfe celebrates its twelfth year in 2013.

Pastor Arnold & Bessie grew up on the Navajo Reservation, near Red Lake, AZ.  They served many years of ministry at the Red Lake Grace Brethren Church as youth pastor and then senior pastor.  God called them from the reservation life to the metro city life to start a new church for Native Americans in 2001.  Starting and establishing a new church is hard work.  Both victories and challenges abound.

In 2006, God moved leaders out of NNLC.  In 2007, God helped launch Hopah Koinonia (Pueblo people church).  In 2009, God moved them through church leadership challenges.  Attendance has grown, disappeared, and re-emerged causing a roller-coaster of emotions.

Still, God is faithful!  Partnering with the Betoney's, Grace Church ministers to Native Americans in the starting and establishing of local churches in the SW USA.  The Significant Times ABF ministered with the Betoneys in Aug 2010 to visit to help out and to provide encouragement to them.

Please pray for the Betoney Family in the following ways:
  • Physical health: Ask the Lord to keep them in good health.  Please pray continually for consistent sleep and adequate rest for their ministry in Albuquerque and in the SW region of the United States.
  • Walk with the Lord: Ask God to give them great time in God's Word, consistent prayer time, and to have victory over personal sin.
  • Ministry mindset: Ask the Lord to help them direct thoughts and feelings of discouragement, loneliness, and depression to God Himself.  The Evil One Satan can often bring discouragement through physical and emotional challenges.  Please pray for God to be their ever present help in times of need.
