“Without (a) doubt our greatest need as a family of churches is to weave dependent prayer into every aspect of our ministries” ~ Tom Julien

Our brothers and sisters in Christ in the Central African
Republic (CAR) need our help. We can pray for them and give to help them.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthian believers in II
Corinthians 2:11, “As you help by your prayers.” Paul was facing trials and
tribulations in Asia. He was experiencing “hardships.” He was “under great
pressure.” He felt like he as “far beyond our ability to endure.” He even
admitted that many were “despairing of life itself” (II
Corinthians 2:8-11).
Similarly, our brothers and sisters in Christ in the CAR are
facing great troubles. They feel like they are never going to live through
this. Therefore, we can do two things: pray & give.
Encompass World Partners has designated Monday, January 20 as a day of prayer of solidarity for the CAR and its people. Pray for peace all day when you wake up and when you go to sleep. Pray at meal times and whenever God prompts you to pray for the CAR.
PRAY
Pray for their
spiritual life. Use the words of Ephesians 3:14-21. Read the verses praying the
phrases for our brothers and sisters in Christ in the CAR.
Pray for their
physical and emotional life. Ask the Lord to give them daily bread, a good
night’s rest, His peace as they rest in safety, and pray for deliverance from
discouragement, loneliness, and despair.
GIVE
Give to the CAR emergency
relief fund.
As you are able, send a donation online through Encompass to help provide food
for families in desperate need.
