Church planting is paramount to Grace Church. Our heart is to develop fully devoted followers who are in local churches to serve their community and to reach out from their neighborhoods into the region, across cultures, and abroad to the ends of the earth.
At a Christian concert before they were married, God spoke to Bruce and Lisa to give their lives to Christ. Then they began to consider world missions in order to help change the world for Christ. Bruce was completing his doctorate in Wooster when God called him to go to serve the Lord in Brazil with the Grace Brethren.
In these last 60 years, God has helped establish 34 churches and 24 points of light (places where the Gospel is preached and people are coming to Christ with a church emerging), many of these emerging in the last ten years.
Bruce & Lisa have seen God work first hand. The Triplehorns have served in Brazil for 20 years in the cities of Campinas, Uberlândia, & Belém. There are currently 13 Grace Brethren Churches in the greater Belém area. However, some of the most spectacular growth is happening in the outlying areas.
Now God has called Bruce & Lisa to move South to the city of Uberlândia where God wants them to continue leadership development and training in Brazil. They will target the churches in southern Brazil to develop fully devoted followers of Christ.
So please pray for Bruce & Lisa in the following ways:
- Ask God to give them evangelistic contacts in their neighborhood
- Ask God to help them energy to equip pastors and church leaders in Southern Brazil
- Ask God to give them stamina and health as they prepare to serve in Central Africa to train Central African church leaders for a short term this year.
