Dave and Susie Hobert

Email Hobie and Susie
Mission Location: Paray-la-Monial, France

Sending Agency: Encompass World

Our Missionary Partner: People matter to God. People matter to us.  Grace church values people--saved people serve people.  Dave & Susie Hobert have spent their lifetime serving the French people in the Burgundy region of Southern France.  God called them to develop fully devoted followers of Christ in France as missionary partners from Grace Church.

Their Mission: The Hobert's live in Paray-la-Monial in a city known as the city of the Sacred Heart.  For the past year, God has prompted them to start a Gospel Discovery Group in Paray.  They have conducted "faith walks" where a 6-mile trek in the countryside offers a chance for a testimony, a challenge, or a discussion about faith in Jesus with friends and neighbors.  Dave & Susie have helped launch a monthly church gathering in Paray at the local cultural center where there is space to share their faith in Jesus.  You can learn more about their ministry in France by visiting their Encompass World webpage.

Sharing life change around the world, pray for missionaries today

Kevin & Jill Kane (Cambodia)
All around the world, Grace Church values people.  We believe that a relationship with Jesus is life's most important relationship. Therefore, we are committed to sharing the Good News about Jesus in this community and around the world.

People matter to God. People matter to us.

As Jesus said of the lost sheep and applied it to all people, "In the same way your Father in Heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost (Matthew 18:14)."

Lisa, Jonathan, & Bruce Triplehorn (Brazil/Chad)

The Bible challenges us to pray. Join us today to pray for our missionary partners around the world as they prepare for reaching out this Christmas season in North America, South America, Europe, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa.  I am highlighting our missionary partners who have come from Grace Church. Grace Church partners with over 75 different organizations, families and individuals.

Missionary walks as Jesus walked

Thanks to Havangl(nl) for use of his picture
Just talked with Dave Hobert in Montceau-le-Mines, France on the phone. It is a great joy to get news from our missionary partners in the world.

After Sunday services in Paray, they enjoyed a meal together and all took a walk on the Center Canal (Canal du Centre) along the way from Paray-le-Monial. They enjoy fellowship together as believers in Christ with a leisurely walk in the evening or a recreational bike ride along a quiet canal.

I wonder if that is what's missing in churches here in the USA. I wonder if we need to pause in repose as a group of fully devoted followers of Christ to start our week better. I wonder if the believers in France fulfill the sabbath command better than US (Exodus 20:8-11). It sounds like they do, "but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work..."

So plan now to do something of leisure this week. Find a way to rest or to recharge by doing no work. You might find how much the week ahead will look. In fact, you might find God has been waiting for you to slow down to meet with Him during your leisure.  Make time for leisure this week as a fully devoted follower of Christ!
