I get to speak in the Internationals Adult Bible Fellowship at 11am at Wooster Grace in Room 160. My topic is how to bring your friends or family members to the point of deciding to follow Jesus or not.
I want to thank my friend, Greg Stier, for his insights on this topic (Dare 2 Share, p.125). He offers two key questions to ask once you share the main facts of the Gospel message:
- Did that make sense?
- Do you want to trust Jesus?
In the first question, you clarify if they got what you were trying to say. If they don't get it, then go over the Gospel message again. If they share that they got it, then ask the second question.
For the second question, you bring them to a point of decision. They must verbalize either to accept Jesus, reject Jesus, or wait for more information to decide.
I can't wait to lead the Bible study on this topic. My primary text will be Acts 8:27-38. I wonder if there is any other passages that you can think of where the crossroad of decision is expressed. Please offer your suggestions.
