Historic Day in United States History

Today is an historic day in the history of the United States. I am fortunate to be alive today to witness it via internet.

I missed seeing the inauguration live. But with online news help, I got a chance to read the transcript (FoxNews) and even hear Rick Warren's invocation.

On the CNN website, they are taking a poll. Is this event historic or over-hyped? I wonder what your thoughts are.

I measure it as historic. Though I have not watched much media recently, I'd have to say that for me it was not over-hyped.

I am alloting only so much media in my life right now. I have adjusted my media intake prior to the inauguration.

However, I know my responsibility before God is to pray. I liked Pastor Rick's prayer. In fact, I prayed for our president yesterday and will pray for our new president today. I want to follow what I Timothy 3:1-4 states,

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

May God hear my prayer for our new president--may President Obama govern so that every Christ-follower can live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

I would say it is over-hyped like many things.
