Serving God in Slovenia

Thomas Doohan
Wooster Grace sends out 111 people to many places in the world each summer. One young man is heading to Europe this summer.

Thomas Doohan is serving in Ljubljana, Slovenia from June 09, 2012 to July 24, 2012 in order to target the College Campus. The team intends to launch spiritual movements from Ljubljana in their six week project.

Slovenia is a country of great contrast. On the surface, it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The Alps are all around the city of Ljubljana and the Adriatic Sea is only an hour away. However, in the hearts and souls of men and women it is very different. Slovenia is a spiritual desert.

Most Slovenes no longer believe in God and the story of redemption through Jesus Christ has been lost. Over the course of the project, Thomas will receive great training and experience in evangelism, apologetics and Bible study methods with the team in Slovenia. He will grow deep in his relationship with God, build close friendships, and make an eternal impact in the lives of people who have never heard the gospel.

We pray that his summer would make the name of Jesus famous in Slovenia and for developing fully devoted followers of Christ.

You can follow his trip by visiting his blog and post an encouraging word often at http://thomasdoohan.com./

Pray:
  • Ask God to help Thomas with his transition to a new culture, may God the Holy Spirit give him the ability to make new Slovene friends.
  • Praise God for getting Thomas to Slovenia
  • Pray for God to empower Thomas to share Christ effectively in life, words, and actions
  • May God work in Thomas' life so that when he returns he may always live on mission for God.
