Praying for the nations in unique ways in your home

You can pray for the nations from your own home

I propose that you pray for the peoples of the world in a unique way this weekend. I challenge you to start this weekend. You can pray alone or ask others to pray for the people of the world by gathering in different places in your home to pray for different groups.

To pray for missionaries: Get in your car/van and ask God to help missionaries go to share the Gospel. Missionaries go to be with the people. Sitting in your vehicle when you go out can help you pray for missionaries.  For example, ask God to empower Kevin & Jill Kane who serve in Battambang, Cambodia to equip Cambodian church leaders at the Cambodian Training Center.

To pray for nationals who have come to Christ in their country: Stand at the front door and ask God to help them introduce people to Christ in their country.  One Cambodian church leader is Chhay Seng. Watch his story together then stand at your front door and pray for Seng.

To pray for Hurting People: Make a tent from a bed sheet because many families who don’t know Jesus live in tents and ask God to bring the Gospel to families who have never heard about Jesus in their whole lives. Many families in Central African Republic live in refugee tents because of war and civil unrest.  Watch the prayer of an African brother. Then play the video again praying with him for the people of the Central African Republic.

To pray for Persecuted Christians: tie your hands up and pray for God to give Christians courage to stand for Christ even when they are in jail, in pain, and hungry. Warning! The video link has graphic violent content. The footage may be disturbing to some viewers, especially children. Pray for the persecuted Church!

To pray for Bible Translation: Hold your Bible over your head and ask God to bring His Word to new peoples who do not have a copy of the Bible.  Grace Church is supporting Jason & Anita Maust to support bible translation by serving with MMS Aviation. One day Jason may deliver the Bible to a new people group in an airplane. Watch this video how one tribe receives the Bible for the first time.  Then, pray holding your bible over your head. Ask God to provide full support for the Maust family.

Above all, I trust you will have fun praying in unique ways this weekend on your own, with a friend, or with your family.  Please share in the comments which one you will try or have completed this weekend.
