Pregnant Warrior

In my journey with God since my last post, I have experienced God's awesomeness. You may not think God is great, but I do. I will praise God, even to those children yet unborn. I will declare how great God is to the coming generations.

Since the end of August, God has helped us in many ways:

  • He facilitated in the close on our house in Columbus.

  • He arranged for temporary housing while we await one of two things: (1) the sale of the house we are staying in or (2) the purchase of the house we are wanting to buy.

  • The Lord also allowed us to gather our friends together to celebrate how great God is--we had numerous friends to celebrate God's praise at our "empty-house, open house."

  • God made the closing flawless

  • He orchestrated answers to our prayers for the family who would buy our house: (a) would have a boy the same age as our friend, Gunar; (b) would love animals; and (c) would attend a Bible-believing church. God answered each one of our prayers.

  • He prepared us for the transition--I was worried that the trauma of moving would be detrimental to our children, but they have made a good adjustment so far.

I listed just a little more than a handful of things God did on our behalf. He truly demonstrated how great He is!

But what about you? I read in the Bible, in Psalm 78. The chapter rehearses how far God had brought the people of Israel. "That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, that they may arise and tell them to their children, that they should put their confidence in God, And not forget the works of God (Psalm 78:6-7)."

I wonder how far has God brought you. If you stop and list them, then you can ponder how great He truly is. You can recall how things could have been so much worse. You can even wonder how things could have been so much better as well. But consider the facts. God has brought you along. You have so much to give thanks to God.

I trust you can pause long enough to recount how far God has brought you. Or you may review how God diverted your path from greater hardship. Or you may wonder how things might have turned out if you did not follow God when the way has become more challenging than you expected.

In whatever mode you are in, stop and consider how far God has brought you. You will discover how much more grateful you will become with this exercise. Or you may discover how much more bitter you are.

Wherever you end up, say thanks to God anyway. Your life experience with God so far is unique and completely yours. Seek gratitude that life hasn't gotten more worse, because life could be so much more horrible--more awful than you can imagine. Give thanks to God. You will grow in your walk with God.
